Yes, it’s that time of year again, Planning has been underway since last September. It’s not too early to sign up for the 2012 walk!
Last year the Lady Lake Walk raised $40,100 and the six Mid Florida walks a total of $540,000. A HUGH Success! To join The Villages MS Support Group Team just click on the “Join the Villages Team” link above and the follow the instructions.

January 17 - The MS Village People (MSVP) hosted a Health Fair featuring products and services focusing on the needs of those with mobility, motion and neurological problems. Everyone was invited, including non-Villagers, and they came!

We had about 20 vendors offering products and services including, but not limited to, the following: mobility devices, van conversions, home conversions, portable showers, medical alert systems and service dogs. Home services include a hair stylist, a CNA who will help with personal services, and others who will do errands and provide transportation to medical and other appointments. Dr. Sheri Hamnik, neurologist who is Director of the stroke unit at The Villages Hospital participated as did a paralegal from the office of Mary F, Trotter, Atty. February 11 - Our Third Annual Benefit Concert featuring Mary Jo Vitale will be held at Church on the Square Saturday February 11th at 7:00 pm. Mary Jo continues to amaze Villages audiences with her singing. She performs mostly Broadway show songs, some oldies and opera. Tickets are $13 and $11 at the Villages Box Offices, $15 at the door if available. Last year was a sellout! Steve Berkovitz has one wheelchair space available. The February 21^st meeting will be about Pseudo-bulbar affect. Dr. Smirnoff will be our guest speaker. He will talk about this problem and the medicine Neudexta which is used for this purpose and will perhaps will be approved for other applications in the future.

February 25th - 4th Annual Best of the Villages Mahjongg Tournament will be held at Bacall Recreation Center on February 25, 2012, 9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Registration is $35, made payable to MS Village People Fundraising.
